UAL Industries Ltd. is proud to have earned a 4.5-star rating at the Energy Conservation Award (ENCON) 2024, conducted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Eastern Region. The award was presented to UAL-Bengal at the CII Energy Conclave 2024 in Kolkata on 20 November 2024.

The CII ENCON Awards recognise manufacturing units across Eastern India for measurable progress in energy efficiency and conservation. For UAL, this rating reflects steady work at our Bengal plant to reduce energy use, improve process efficiency and run our operations more responsibly.

Eradicating Hunger & Poverty: Special Jury Appreciation and Scroll of Honour. UAL Industries was honoured by the Indian Chamber of Commerce for its efforts to eradicate hunger and poverty in the communities it serves. The Special Jury Appreciation and Scroll of Honour was presented by Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose, Hon'ble Governor of West Bengal, at the 6th ICC Social Impact Summit & Awards on 12 March 2024 in Kolkata.

UAL-Bengal was recognised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce for its strong commitment to workplace health and safety. The award honours the systems and practices that keep our people safe at every stage of manufacturing. It was presented at the 6th ICC National Occupational Health & Safety Conference & Awards on 12.09.2024 in Kolkata.

Gold Certificate, Manufacturing & Engineering (Medium) Sector. UAL-Bengal received the Gold Certificate from the Indian Chamber of Commerce for its commitment to environmentally responsible manufacturing and sustainable operations. The award was presented at the 17th Environment Partnership Summit & Environment Excellence Award on 11 January 2024 in Kolkata.

UAL-Bengal received the GOLD award at the 18th Environment Excellence Awards for its commitment to environmentally responsible manufacturing and sustainable operations. The award was organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in association with IESWM and presented on 11 January 2024 in Kolkata.

UAL-Bengal was awarded the “International Prestigious Award 2022” by LLES, UP and SNVT, Rajasthan for its outstanding performance in social service, immortal contribution to the spirit of patriotism, environment protection and more.

UAL-Bengal was adjudged WINNER (First Prize, Medium & Large Category) of the Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Awards 2022 on 30th December 2022 at the 121st Annual General Meeting of MCCI, in the presence of Sri Sarbananda Sonowal (Hon’ble Minister of Ports, Shipping, Waterways & Ayush, Govt. of India).

UAL-Odisha received the “Kalinga Environment Excellence Award (4 Star)” for the performance year 2021 on 11th June 2022, conferred by the Institute of Quality & Environment Management Services in collaboration with the State Pollution Control Board, Odisha. The award was presented by the Special Guest, His Excellency Sri Andalib Elias, Dy. High Commissioner of Bangladesh, along with other dignitaries including Dr. K. Murugesan (IFS), Member Secretary, OSPCB.

Our UAL-Bengal unit participated in the Water Warrior Awards 2022 and was declared “Winner”. The award was organized by the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation and Lifeline Foundation. Shri Shrikant Sharma, Minister BJP, presented the award at a ceremony in Mathura.

At the Social Impact Awards & Summit 2022, held on 11th March 2022, UAL-Bengal received a Social Impact Award as special jury recognition for its Eradicating Hunger & Poverty project, and Special Jury Appreciation for its Health Care project.

UAL-Bengal received the “Energy Conservation Award 2021” on 21.12.2021, organized by CII.

UAL-Bengal received the prestigious CLEAN INDUSTRY GREEN INDUSTRY AWARD 2021 from Mr. Sukhram Vishnoi (Hon’ble Minister of Factories and Boilers, Rajasthan Government) for playing an important role in green service and for its contribution to the spirit of patriotism and environmental protection through more than 50% greenery, development of tea plantation, medicinal plants, a rain water harvesting project and vermicompost pit, and energy conservation and use of renewable energy, to mention a few. Most importantly, we work by the “ZERO WASTE & ZERO EFFLUENT” management principle in letter and spirit.

UAL-Odisha received the “Kalinga Safety Excellence Award (Silver)” for the performance year 2020 on 22.12.2021 at the Odisha State Safety Conclave, Bhubaneswar. The award was handed over by the Hon’ble Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Syt. Toufique Hasan, in the presence of the Hon’ble Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, Syt. (Dr.) Surjya Narayan Patro.

UAL-Bengal received the prestigious “National Occupational Health & Safety Award” from the Indian Chamber of Commerce for best practices in occupational health and safety management, for the third consecutive year. Shri Becharam Manna, Hon’ble Minister, Dept. of Labour, Govt. of WB, presented the award on 25.09.2021.

The award goes to the organization with best-in-class occupational health management and excellence in industrial safety. The contest is held nationwide, with more than sixty participating industries.

UAL KONCRETE received the prestigious “West Bengal Building & Construction Material Leadership Award 2021” in the category ‘Most Preferred Brand by Construction & Real Estate Sector (AAC Block)’, conducted by the Global Real Estate Congress in March 2021. In the emerging AAC industry, UAL KONCRETE was judged the leading AAC brand. UAL KONCRETE is one of the single largest plant facilities of European technology in India.

UAL-Bengal received the prestigious Social Impact Awards 2018 & 2021 in the Health Care category for its unparalleled support towards society. We believe our initiative helps villagers improve their lifestyle and will significantly reduce the mortality rate.

Our initiatives were also recognised in the Promoting Education category in 2018 for improving local youths' skills through our own skill development centre. We also contribute to society by providing stipends to meritorious students, building schools, providing free medical treatment to the surrounding community, and much more.

UAL-Bengal received the prestigious “SANMARG BUSINESS AWARDS 2020” for outstanding and excellent business practices. These cover leadership and creativity in business, an environment-friendly manufacturing process, initiatives towards sustainability and preventing climate change, innovative strategies and R&D, strategies to track new opportunities, concern for community development, best HR practices, employee management and welfare, and best practices for combating COVID-19 at the workplace, all on a single platform.

UAL-Bengal received the prestigious “National Occupational Health & Safety Award” from the Indian Chamber of Commerce for excellent health and safety management practice. The plant holds ISO 45001:2018 certification from Bureau Veritas, London, UK, and took several innovative measures for handling the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to our proactive safety measures, we have not faced even a minor accident in the last decade.

UAL-Bengal has received the prestigious Environment Excellence Award six times, including the last five consecutive years, for unmatched excellence in its environmental management system. This includes planting more than 23,750 trees inside and around the factory, and developing a tea plantation, medicinal plants, a rain water harvesting project and a vermicompost pit with the assistance of IIT-Kharagpur, to mention a few.

Most importantly, we work by the “ZERO WASTE & ZERO EFFLUENT” management principle in letter and spirit. UAL-Bengal is well recognised in the surrounding area for its green cover and innovative environmental initiatives.

UAL-Bengal received a remarkable star rating for energy conservation at the 12th ENCON Awards from the Confederation of Indian Industry for its contribution towards a clean and green earth. It has partially shifted to renewable energy through its rooftop solar power generation system, and has made many equipment and process changes to make the system more efficient. As a result, it has reached an energy consumption level that may be considered a benchmark for peer industries.

To promote healthy competition among all production units, the CMD Trophy is organised every year, covering important operational parameters. It has run since 2013-14, and through it management acknowledges the effort of the best performing production units. UAL-Bengal has received the CMD Trophy for seven consecutive years.
